Every new car allows for a few options to be put together, but few offer true customisation and one of the motoring world’s latest to bring such a unique package to the table is Vauxhall and its new Adam.
Comprising of the Adam Jam, Adam Glam and Adam Slam, the funky hatchback has certainly caught the eye of many since its reveal last year. Until now, only the three variations and three engine types have been available for order, but next month’s Geneva Motor Show will divulge Vauxhall’s next step for the Adam project with the Adam Rocks.
As dealerships such as Baylis.uk.com prepare to deliver brand new Adams to their customers, the British manufacturer has set the ball rolling with this next model and it looks to be as exciting as the regular Adam. This ‘Rocks’ variation is described as “an urban mini-crossover that could open a new segment in the industry” and released concept drawings show the underpinnings of the base Adam with SUV detailing.
Malcolm Ward, lead design director at Vauxhall/Opel, said: “Adam Rocks is just one possible answer to the question of how new development paths for this unique car could be forged.”
From the looks of the pictures, the Adam Rocks could very well be a rival for the popular Nissan Juke, albeit on a slightly smaller scale. The concept will make it to Geneva in March, but it might not be until the end of the year that we see the production version if it gets confirmed after the show.
The Adam Rocks might also rival the likes of the Mini Countryman, just like its smaller predecessor has gone up against the Cooper and chances are customers will once more have the pleasure of full-on customisation, although with the Rocks this could be taken to a new level.
For anybody wanting a better look at the Adam in the London area – the kind of location targeted by this type of car – can go and visit a pop-up shop being erected at Westfield Stratford City and will be there between February 16-24.
