One of the biggest dates on the motoring calendar, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, is taking place this weekend and there has been plenty to see of the three-day moving motor show.
Always one to celebrate an anniversary, the Goodwood is spoilt for choice in 2013, with some of the biggest names in the business having something to shout about. Along with the Festival of Speed enjoying its own 20th birthday, the main focus is the 50th anniversary of Porsche’s iconic 911 which is taking centre-stage this year.
Meanwhile, McLaren is also celebrating 50 years in the business, and Lamborghini is doing just the same, whilst other noteworthy dates include 40 years of the World Rally Championship and 90 years of Le Mans.
As a result, there is a whole array of wonderful machinery to grace the Goodwood grounds over the three days from all areas of the automotive world. Key cars on display include the McLaren P1, Jaguar one-offs Project 7 and C-X75 models, Alfa Romeo’s 4C and a whole host of classics from the road and the track.
