Ferrari has done it again. With the introduction of the new F12 Berlinetta at the Geneva Auto Show, Ferrari has produced another incredibly fast car for us to lust after. Designed by the Ferrari Styling Center and Pininfarina, the latest offering from the supercar marque is as beautiful as it is fast. Named 2012 Supercar of the Year, The F12 is the fastest Ferrari yet.
The F12 Berlinetta comes with 730 horsepower and over 500 ft/lbs of torque, that’s enough to pull some serious G’s on its way to a top speed of 210 MPH! Faster and lighter than the 599 model, the new F12 can reach 60 MPH in 3.1 seconds and 124 MPH in just over 8 seconds. This new Ferrari is truly a force to be reckoned with.
It isn’t lacking in the looks department either. With love-it or hate-it styling, the new F12 has many areas of focus. From the sweeping headlights and wide open front grille, to the sculpted sides and very low roof-line, you will not run out of things to look at. Even the rear view, which many other super-cars will be getting a look at, with its downward curved valance and quad polished exhaust tips is a thing of beauty.
The interior and luggage space is all familiar Ferrari, rich leathers and carbon fiber abound. And, as always, interior themes are left up to the customer. As with any of today’s Ferrari models, a host of technological features are included. These include the E-Diff, ESP Premium, F1-TRAC and performance ABS programming to compliment the carbon ceramic brakes.
The new F12 Berlinetta might look a lot like the outgoing 599 model but every bit of the body is completely new and different. The design team really wanted to incorporate some strong, flowing surfaces that could complement the existing designs Ferrari is known for. I think they have hit their mark.
This new front-engine, rear-wheel drive supercar should carry Ferrari into the next five years as the reigning king of supercars. Faster, more powerful, lighter and with even better fuel economy than ever, the new F12 Berlinetta will definitely make you pulse race and your heart beat faster, just remember to close your mouth and not drool on the upholstery.
